Cosain is a placeholder term, borrowed from Gaelic, meaning roughly "The Ways" or "The Paths". Some Eldari have memories concerning an event somewhere in Alorya's history involving a large stonework structure being used in a ritual of unknown purpose. The ritual failed, spectacularly, and shards of stonework were propelled across Alorya and even through the Veil to other worlds or dimensions. Due to residual magic from the ritual, however, these stones remained linked to one another and could be used to travel from one place to another or even from world to world. Cosain in this context refers to the network of such stones and their use in travelling. This is not the same as the gate networks remembered on other Elenari worlds, however.
