Dragon Code
The Dragon Code was a geek code created by Red Dragon on July 25, 1994.[1] A longer version, adding scales for a non-dragon's standing with dragons, hoard size, colour and age, followed on January 5, 1995.[2] It was taken over by Baxil on August 25, 1996[3], who maintained it until July 19, 1999 when it was officially taken over by Wyrm[4]. While it was created on Alt.Fan.Dragons and widely used within the draconity community, the code was not exclusively for dragons and contained codes for a variety of species.[5] Some members of the otherkin, draconity, and furry communities continue to use it, though the sites describing it are no longer maintained.

The page credits the code's creation to Red Dragon and states that "the Dragon Code is not just for dragons," having taken its name from the newsgroup it began in; by that date it carried race tags for dolphins, dwarves, elementals, merfolk, felines and demons alongside the original dragon, human, elf and shapeshifter codes.
