A poser is someone who pretends to be otherkin, therian or vampire when they are not. Such pretense is generally accompanied by grandiose claims regarding metaphysical abilities, past life identity, current lifespan, or similar. In the vampire community, claims of being a classical vampire are a common sign of posers, while in the therian community claims of physical shapeshifting is the most common sign.
