An elder is a prominent member of the otherkin or vampire communities who is generally honored and respected for their experience, knowledge, and willingness to help others. Elders are often those individuals who have helped build community, organize groups, or network. They have created the spaces and opportunities for interaction which make community possible. In the otherkin community the concept of elders is controversial. A similar concept in the therian community is greymuzzles.
