Ashtae is a remembered word from the Listari language meaning "the area around", "between", or "in the area of". A liminal space, place of interaction between forces, or the realms of possibility. Contextually it relates to the concepts of [[Des{{b|tai]] and [[Nes}}tai]] and the idea that there are multiple possible paths of Des'tai rather than a singular one.
