The Scene is the social aspect of the vampire community including havens, events, businesses, houses, message boards, etc. Some members of the community find this term overly pretentious or is too reminiscent of the Goth or BDSM subcultures. It is possible to be a real vampire without taking part in the social aspects of the community.
