Dreamhaven is a new otherkin gather planned by Jarandhel Dreamsinger, to be held in July 2012, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania atFaehaven. The event is focused on the expression and exploration of our inner most kinship in a setting that has convenient access for all. The event will allow for a place of kin expression in a safe environment among other kin. The expression of your own kin will be combined with other kin at the gather and together we will explore the meanings of otherkin. The elements of Faehaven combined with an encouragement to dress as your otherkin self the entire gather will supply a setting for workshops, personal journeys, and kinship provided by our otherkin peers. The event welcomes all species of kin from elves, fae, dragons, vamps, furries, elemental, and any other individuals that identify as otherkin. There will be a costume closet provided to borrow and change into costumes, musical expression, divination sharing, group erotic adult play, and to share a meal together. As each evening winds down the kin group can naturally nest together throughout the house as it is comfortable to each individual.

It is a smaller gathering, in the 20-30 people range. Attendence is $20 per person, which is being used to provide a meal plan of two hot meals on Friday and Saturday evenings. Workshop details are still being planned.

Throughout Dreamhaven certain elements will be available to those drawn to them:

The Costume Closet:

Within Faehaven is a closet where kin can explore the outward expression of their otherkin self. When they emerge they may need a new name or may express themselves in different ways. This large closet has costumes that help with the expression of our own inner otherkin self and as many sides as we may choose to share at this gather. There are all sorts of ways to express yourself within the costume closet. If you have things you would like to share in the closet please bring it along. (You might want to put your name on it, so you can get it back at the end of the gather.)If you have personal otherkin wear, please bring it along - this is your opportunity to be your TOTAL self!

The Divination Station:

Faehaven will provide a table and some basic divination supplies for anyone to borrow in order to explore their skills and talents in a safe haven. We strongly encourage an exchange of readings among interested otherkin. We ask for anyone with an abundance of divination tools that are willing to share to bring it along and add it to the public table. (Again, you might want to put your name on it) We also are excited to share in each other's very personal divination tools and share readings with each other.

The Outdoor Hearth:

At Faehaven under the protection of tree cover and a privacy fence stands a hearth that welcomes all forms of musical expression from drums, string instruments, voices, dancers, and any other type of instrument that expresses our inner self. There will be some benches provided but anyone that has drum chairs or other seating should bring it along. Anyone is welcome to build a fire once the sun has gone down. Plenty of wood, a hatchet, and fire starters will be provided by Faehaven.

The Other Playground:

For those of us that choose to express ourselves sexually there is a space provided for group expression of our otherkin sexuality. There will be a safe environment available to individuals, couples, and/or small groups to express themselves. The room is public but a door is closed in order to contain the intimacy we share with each other. Costuming, toys, and other tools are strongly encouraged. Some basic supplies are available but the rest you must bring...
