Alt.Fan.Dragons, also known as AFD, The Dominance, and Alfandra, is a Usenet Newsgroup created by ExistingPhantom in December, 19993 for "the posting of any and all topics relating to dragons, as well as opinion, discussion, stories and poetry about any aspect of dragons."[1] While it started out as mainly a "technical discussion group", between September and November of 1994 members began to join who claimed to actually be dragons. This newsgroup would become the birthplace of the online Draconity community, paralleling alt.horror.werewolves as the birthplace of the therian community.
