The Elfinkind Digest is the oldest otherkin mailing list, created by R'ykandar Korra'ti in March 1990. This list is where the term otherkin was first coined, on April 18, 1990, in Elfinkind Digest #16 when Torin, one of the list members, "got tired of typing elf/dragon/orc/etc.-kin and just used otherkin" as shorthand.[1]
