Thank you so much for the welcome. I'm looking forward to helping this place out as much as I can. It'd be nice to have a comprehensive wiki for the nonhuman communities. :3 Kai (talk) 00:40, 3 April 2012 (EST) |

:I'm aware of the issue with the archive.org copy of otherkin.net. Portions of the site have been archived at http://archive.is/http://otherkin.net/* but which pages were saved were rather hit-and-miss and there are large portions of the site which were not archived. I'm working on a possible way to retrieve a complete archive of the site, and will keep you posted if I'm successful. Failing that, I may contact the site creator and see if he has a backup that he would be willing to share. -- Jarandhel (talk) 00:54, 28 June 2016 (EDT) |

::Thanks a ton for doing this, I've been searching to see if the missing articles have been posted elsewhere online and transcribing them all onto /r/internetcollection on reddit for safekeeping. It's a real shame to see so many important websites from the otherkin community and other subcultures go down; I don't think the people taking them off the web understand how important they are for understanding the history of those subcultures and internet history and anthropology at large. I never thought this one would go down since it was around for ages and so well-referenced so I never thought to save it. I guess this might be a hard lesson about having expectations about the lifespan of old websites. :'( --Visitor (talk) 18:32, 28 June 2016 (EDT) |

:::Well, the other thing is that otherkin.net was extensively archived by archive.org and there should have been no problem with the archive being maintained when the site was taken down. But for whatever reason, archive.org has recently made either a technical or a policy change which is resulting in some sites retroactively being removed from their public archives under _exactly_ the conditions that the archive was designed to preserve those sites. -- Jarandhel (talk) 19:16, 28 June 2016 (EDT) |

Notability question
What are the notability guidelines (if any) for articles about individuals here on AnOtherWiki? Equivamp (talk) 10:43, 25 December 2012 (PST)
- There aren't any. If anyone wants to make an article about anyone in the community, it's fair game, whether they're well known or unknown. The only guidelines with regard to articles about people are here: http://anotherwiki.org/wiki/Help:Stylebook#Articles_about_people Jarandhel (talk) 10:52, 25 December 2012 (PST)

Otherkin.net
The archive link for otherkin.net doesn't work due to robots.txt; is there an alternative archive or a way to retrieve it? It's a historically important website and it's awful that it's gone down without a proper archive. --Visitor (talk) 23:07, 27 June 2016 (EDT)
