Becoming is a process similar to Awakening in which one embraces their vampirism. It is part of the system of the Ordo Strigoi Vii. It may be considered a rite of passage for a newly awakened vampire, marking their adulthood within the community. Some groups object to the term due to the general belief in the community that one must be born a vampire, and that no one can be made one. As such, they see the term "becoming" as inaccurate and carrying connotations of "turning".
